What is a Ductless HVAC System?
Ductless HVAC Systems (also called mini-split systems), which describes how a ductless heating and cooling system is set up. In essence, the traditional HVAC system is cut into two parts in a ductless HVAC system with the air handler being indoors and the compressor/condenser being outdoors. Each air handler connects to a separate room and to the outdoor condenser. No ductwork is used in this system. These HVAC systems are installed either high on a wall, ceiling, an outside wall, or low to the floor.
